Dr. Cichy-Parker was an educator in the Minnesota and Wisconsin K-12 educational systems for 8 years teaching both Spanish and Special Education at all levels. He earned his Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Minnesota in 2010 with his dissertation titled “The Effects of African American and European American Males’ Behavior Styles on Preservice Teachers’ Ratings of Acceptability, Achievement, and Aggression”. Dr. Cichy-Parker was an assistant professor at St. Cloud State University, also in Minnesota, for four years where he continued his work on multicultural education in addition to the use of assistive technology and universal design in educational settings. Dr. Cichy has recently relocated to Portland, OR to continue the pursuit of social justice and racial and cultural equity in education.
